As we previously reported, American Tony Ferguson responded to a call to fight by ex-Bellator lightweight champion compatriot Michael Chandler and said he was ready to share the octagon with him in December. Michael, in turn, despite the fact that he has been seeking this fight for several months, is not going to meet with Tony on the date set by him, but offers to fight on January 23rd as part of the UFC 257 tournament.
“There is zero chance that I will fight Tony Ferguson in December. I am 100% sure that he is aware of this, as the representatives of the UFC told him about it. As we know Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will fight on February 23rd. They need a co-main event, so why not Chandler vs. Ferguson, ”said Michael.
Recall that Chandler signed a contract with the UFC in the middle of this year, but never had a debut fight.
Maisie Barber to fight Alexa Grasso at UFC 258
Up-and-coming UFC flyweight fighter Macy Barber will soon return to the Octagon. According to the MMA Junkie portal, the 22-year-old American will face Alexa Grasso at UFC 258, which will take place on February 13. The location of this event will be announced later.
For Barber, this fight will be the first since her debut career loss, which she suffered in January at UFC 246 in a confrontation with Roxanne Modafferi.
